OAK ULTIMATE: Summer 2025 FAQ
We’re excited to announce our summer programs and provide this information. We’ll update as additional questions arise. (Last updated 3/19/2025)
I missed the information zoom, is their a deck to review?
Yes! Please see this link for the deck presentation.
Which teams/programs are being offered by OAK this summer?
Tryouts occurred in February 2025 and the following teams will participate this summer:
U20 Gx team (YouthQuake and YCC)
U17 Boys/Open (YouthQuake and YCC)
U20 Boys/Open (YouthQuake and YCC)
U15 - Competitive (YouthQuake) and Development (Non-travel)
What are the program dates?
Practices will start the weekend of June 8 and end with YCC tournament weekend (August 2-4).
The program will end at an event/BBQ on Sunday August 10.
Some additional practices/events may be held prior to June as space/time allows but with priority given to other school-based team leagues and events.
When and where are practices?
Practices will start the weekend of June 8, and we will likely practice three days a week.
Tentative practice dates and times below:
U15 and Gx - Monday and Wednesday (evenings), Sunday (afternoon)
U17 and U20 Open - Tuesday and Thursday (evenings), Sunday (late afternoon)
Practices are expected to take place in Alameda.
How are team communications handled?
Team and program announcements will be shared through TeamSnap. Each division will have its own team and all players will be in an “All Summer Programs” team.
Additionally, each team may choose a communications program (GroupMe, WhatsApp, etc.) for ad-hoc communication.
In previous years, parents have also created communication groups (GroupMe, WhatsApp, etc.) for their own information sharing.
What are the tournament dates?
U15, U17, U20: Utah YouthQuake (Salt Lake City, UT): June 20 and 21 (Friday and Saturday)
U17, U20: Youth Club Championships (Denver, CO): August 2 thru 4 (Saturday through Monday)
YouthQuake has been a great and fun preparation for YCC with most members of our competitive teams playing in that tournament (but not mandatory). Players participating at YCC (U17/U20) cannot play with OAK U15 at that tournament, they must play with their YCC team. Financial assistance is available.
What are the program cost expectations?
Active USAU membership ( https://usaultimate.org/membership/levels/ )
Uniforms (dark and light jersey) ~ $65-70 for both
Summer (Bay Area) practices $350 ($100 deposit with roster acceptance and $250 billed in May)
Please note that financial aid is available for all OAK programs, including the summer season. For more information, please see: https://oakultimate.com/financial-aid
What are the tournament costs?
Each tournament is paid for separately and costs are applied to the players who attend the tournament. If you can’t make a tournament, you are not responsible for the shared costs.
These costs cover the following: Tournament fees and coaches’ travel expenses and labor.
Personal travel costs (airfare/hotel/food etc.) are NOT included in these fees. Players/families pay these costs directly. OAK will organize team hotel blocks and share that information with the teams.
Anticipated travel tournaments estimated fees/not to exceed:
Youthquake: $325/per player
YCC: $425/per player
